How our walking holidays are graded:-

Grade 1 sightseeing :-
Gentle exploration of the region , with some short walks of up to 2 hours duration, visiting local heritage sites and villages.

Grade 2 :-
Walking mainly on paths. Modest gradients with ascents up to 500m in a day. Up to 5 hours walking per day. Being a limestone region our paths can be quite rough and stony.

Grade 3:-
Walking both on and off path, and occasionally scrambling. Be prepared for steep ascents and descents. Ascents up to 1000m per day and up to 6 hours walking.

Grade 3/4:-
As grade 3 with a couple of longer days and some scrambling: Steep ascents and descents up to 1500m per day and up to 7 hours walking.

Walking boots are essential on all grades of holidays to this region because of the rough stony nature of the paths.
